If you are a Harry Potter fan then you must watch this. This is a parody written by college students about the different Harry Potter books. It is quite brilliant with wonderful lyrics and well executed jokes. The script keeps everything moving and fits the random points together to make for a whole new take on Harry Potter.
With the newest movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, out in theaters this is the perfect time to watch this musical and really appreciate the theatrical arts.
There are certain people who really disapprove of the Harry Potter movies, believing that they don't do the books justice. But this play was designed to be very different from the books and the movies to appeal to the people who knew both and could appreciate the ridiculous antics that the characters do in this version.
It's a bit long because it is a full length play but it's well worth the time needed to sit through the two acts.
So have a sit, and watch the "totally awesome" musical!
I have always wanted to watch it! Sadly I never have the time to or really the appreciation to watch it fully and completely. One day, I will though! That's for sure! I'm actually waiting to watch the Harry Potter saga in its entirety before I see it so I can watch it better you know? I COULD just watch it right now with the link you gave but I'll wait until it actually hits theaters and tours across the country because musicals are just that much better when watched live don't you agree? As an avid theatre person myself, I will probably end up watching it on youtube anyway just cause I'm impatient like that but yeah, it's definitely something I need to watch I agree. You know I might just do it right now, I might not. But either way thanks for reminding and this post! Do you think it'll ever hit broadway?
