Invisible Children

This past Tuesday I attended a showing of a documentary on Invisible Children. The documentary showed the horrors that are currently going on in Uganda do to a group called the LRA lead by a man named Joseph Kony, who is now thought of almost like the boogie man. The LRA abducts thousands of children from Uganda and the surrounding countries every year. They are terrorizing the families and communities of these places and leaving the towns in ruin. Face to Face is an organization trying to bring help and relief to these places. They fund raise for schools, and scholarships for students so that those children who are there can have an education that can help them in the future.
One of the girls in the program from Uganda spoke about her past, and how happy she is now that she can attend school thanks to the program, Schools for Schools.
Her story was touching, and reinforced the fact that this is happening in our world. It reinforced the fact that people need our help.
www.invisiblechildren.com is the website where you can watch part of the documentary. Watch it and think about these children, and families, that are devastated by this war that has been going on for over 20 years.
Even if you feel there is no way for you to contribute to their efforts. The fact that you know about what is happening, and have those people in your thoughts will help. It will help spread the support that they are in need of.
